FIRST TEST: Conduit sample folder
==================================

What this is
------------
A small folder of PUBLIC documents (U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rules and forms, a chapter of the Texas Business Organizations Code, and two published U.S. patents). It is the same set the Magic Trick page at mnemosynec.org/magic/ already serves. Nothing in it is private and nothing in it belongs to any client. It exists so your first try of the Conduit is on documents where you can check the answer yourself.

How to use it
-------------
1. Right-click this zip, choose "Extract all", and extract it.
2. In the Conduit, when it asks for a folder, choose the folder named Sample_Matter_Folder.
3. Ask the questions below, one at a time. Then ask three questions about your own documents.

Questions to ask, and what a good answer looks like
---------------------------------------------------
1. What is the micro entity filing fee on the provisional application cover sheet?
Expected: $65, quoted from PTO_SB_16_provisional_cover_sheet.txt. The Conduit should refuse $325 and $90, which sit on the same sheet but answer other questions.

2. How many months after the provisional application was filed must the nonprovisional application be filed?
Expected: twelve months, quoted from MPEP_211_claiming_benefit_of_earlier_application.txt.

3. Under the Texas Business Organizations Code, how may a domestic entity effect a merger?
Expected: by complying with the applicable provisions of the code (Sec. 10.001, in Texas_Business_Organizations_Code_Chapter_10.txt), with a plan of merger.

4. Which patent examiner was assigned to our client's provisional application?
Expected: "I don't know." Nothing in this folder says so. An honest "I don't know" is the correct answer here, and it is the point of the test.

5. Ask question 2 a second time, word for word.
Expected: the answer comes back from its saved card with no AI call. A reworded question counts as a new question.

What to check
-------------
- Every answer shows the file name and the exact place the quote sits. Open that file and find the words yourself.
- A checked quote proves the words are in the file. It does not prove the file is current or that the law is unchanged. These are plain-text extracts and may drop tables and formatting; always check the official original.
- This is not legal advice.

Where your questions go
-----------------------
Your files stay on your own computer. Repeat questions never go out. A new question goes only to the AI you choose (your own Claude key, an AI model running on your computer, or the AI you already use by paste), or to none if you run one on your own computer.
